We have recently implemented a hotfix that brings the following change to all Classic Era realms, including Hardcore realms:

• Completing the “Fish in a Bucket” quest will no longer grant gold as a reward.

This adjustment was originally made in patch 2.0.10 and is suitable for Classic Era/Hardcore, as the original quest provided an unchallenged, single-faction, endlessly repeatable, low-risk gold reward that does not align with the nature of the rest of the game.

We will continue to monitor for similar situations and, if necessary, take further measures to encourage player interactions and promote Classic gameplay.
